Blake Shelton

Blake Shelton knows a thing or two about climbing the charts. Over the span of his 15 year career, Shelton has charted 20 No. 1 singles. To celebrate the accolade, the superstar released Reloaded: 20 #1 Hits in October of this year. Additionally, three of Shelton's previous singles -- "Boys Round Here," "God Gave Me You" and "Honey Bee" -- reached triple platinum status in 2015. The past year has been a busy one for the crowd pleaser as he continues serving as a judge on The Voice, co-hosted the ACM Awards with Luke Bryan and signed on to host Nickelodeon's 2016 Kids' Choice Awards.

Everything's better in twos and Florida Georgia Line are no exception. The pair were named vocal duo of the year at the CMA Awards and ACM Awards in 2015, won top country artist at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, and took home duo video of the year for the third straight year at the 2015 CMT Music Awards. They also won favorite duo or group, and favorite country album at the 2015 American Music Awards. The chart-toppers wrote five of the 12 tracks on their newest album, Anything Goes. The album quickly rose to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums charts. Florida Georgia Line also headlined their Anything Goes Tour this year and performed concert dates with Luke Bryan in 2015.

Now in their 17th year as a group, Little Big Town received six nominations at this year's CMA Awards, taking home three -- vocal group of the year, single of the year and song of the year for "Girl Crush." They're also the reigning vocal group of the year with the ACMs, and were nominated for favorite duo or group at the 2015 American Music Awards. The quartet made history in 2015 with "Girl Crush," as the tune remained at No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart for 11 weeks. The previous record was 10 weeks, held since 1959 by The Browns. The group is currently on the road for their Pain Killer Tour which kicked off in November of 2014.

This is Luke Bryan's fourth time to be named one of CMT's Artists of the Year. Additionally, he's the reigning entertainer of the year for the CMAs and ACMs. At this year's ACM Awards he also won vocal event of the year with Florida Georgia Line on "This Is How We Roll," was honored with the Gene Weed Special Achievement Award, and co-hosted the show with Blake Shelton. Then he won male video of the year for "Play It Again" at the 2015 CMT Music Awards, and favorite male country artist at the American Music Awards. Bryan's latest album, Kill the Light, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and Billboard 200 chart.

Sam Hunt became a household name in 2015, thanks to the success of his debut album, Montevallo. The project landed at No. 1 on Billboard's Country Albums chart, with singles "Leave the Night On," and "House Party" reaching platinum status, and "Take Your Time" reaching double platinum. Hunt also headlined his first tour -- Lipstick Graffiti Tour -- in 2015, hit the road as an opening act for Lady Antebellum, and served as a special guest on Luke Bryan's Farm Tour. He took home honors at the 2015 CMT Music Awards as "Leave the Night On" won for breakthrough video of the year, and won new artist of the year at the American Music Awards.

CMT commemorates a stellar year in country music by honoring Blake Shelton, Florida Georgia Line, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan and Sam Hunt on CMT Artists of the Year. Airing live from Nashville Dec. 2 at 8/7c, the 90-minute special brings together this year's five honorees and their peers for an evening filled with star-studded performances and celebration, honoring each artist's successes during 2015.
