Amrita is an 18 year-old singer/songwriter from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.
She won the Breakthrough Youtube Star award at the 2013 Digi WWWOW Awards and has performed her songs on local radio and TV stations: RTM2, NTV7 and RedFM on the Red Unsigned programme.
Amrita was picked as an artiste for FEYST - a Malaysian Independent Youth Festival, a platform for youth to express, showcase and share their talents. Her performance from the live recording at No Black Tie will be included in the FEYST compilation album. She also got to sing with YouTube celebrity, David Choi on 8TV Quickie’s YouYube Channel.
Other performances include the Sunrise at Tropical Spice Garden and fringe stages during the Penang Island Jazz Festival 2013 and Moonshine Online: a songwriters round format live show at Laundry Bar streamed online as well.
In June 2012, Amrita left for Nashville to attend the annual Country Music Festival. While in Nashville, she performed at the Indigo Hotel among other places. She also performed in Berkeley's Freight & Salvage with veteran singer-songwriter, Alan Senauke. Amrita had raised her own funds for the Nashville trip by giving several recitals in KL. She came up with her own EP titled "Ticket to Nashville" as her fundraiser that contained 5 of her original songs.
In October 2013, Amrita was featured in Seventeen Magazine Malaysia’s “Real Life, Real inspiring” section as well as in Time Out KL as one of the “23 band you need to know”.
Her song 'Goodbye' is included in the Rock For Ronan compilation album which will be released on the 25th of February 2014. All sales from the CD and online downloads will go directly to The Ronan Thompson foundation to continue research and support of childhood cancers.

“Simple, stripped back acoustic numbers. You’ll recognise the wide-eyed innocence and acoustic stylings of vintage Taylor Swift, with lyrics that read like a high school diary. There’s no over-producing or pretension here – just a girl, a guitar and a clutch of summery songs. Amrita has just finished school and has already done several rounds of KL’s music nights, performed live on ntv7 and Red FM, and is about to throw her hat into the ring and try this music thing full time. If her Taylor-like trajectory continues unabated, she could be on to big things.”

“gifted with simple pop-songwriting sensibilities, she stood out that night in her quiet, calm and almost overlooked 2 song set, a surprising but definite musical gem that night.”
“This singer/songwriter is and would be the next big thing!”
