At the age of eighteen, and hailing from Dallas, Texas, country singer – songwriter Ashliegh Lisset is an independent artist that seems to be making all the right moves. On August 6, 2013, she released her debut single “Kill The Headlights” written by Luke Laird, Hillary Lindsey and Carrie Underwood.
Since the age of twelve, Ashliegh has had aspirations of becoming a professional recording and performing artist. However, It was a tragic life experience that lead her to music. At the age of eleven, she received devastating news. Her father, an American Soldier, lost his life in combat while serving a second tour for Operation Iraqi Freedom.
It was dealing with this tragic loss that she found comfort in music. Ashliegh quickly realized life was too short not to pursue her dream. When asked about her father, Ashliegh replies, “My dad was a passionate soldier, and he died doing something he believed in. In a sense…that’s how I feel about my music.”
Ashliegh’s passion, hard work, and determination is beginning to payoff. Lisset has already opened for Sony recording artist, Jerrod Niemann during K99.1FM’s “Unplugged Concert” in Dayton, Ohio. Her dream is to one day perform with her idol, Carrie Underwood and to perform at The Grand Ole Opry. Ashliegh continues to work hard at making her dreams come true.
With every passing day, Ashliegh moves closer to that dream which will soon become her reality.
