At the age of nineteen,and hailing from Dallas, Texas, country singer – songwriter Ashliegh Lisset is an independent artist that seems to be making all the right moves. On January 22, 2014, she released her debut single “Kill The Headlights” to Sirius XM's The Highway. The single quickly charted and remained in the "Top 30" for (8) consecutive weeks. The single was co-written by Luke Laird, Hillary Lindsey and Carrie Underwood. Since the age of twelve, Ashliegh has had aspirations of becoming a professional recording and performing artist. However, It was a tragic life experience that lead her to music. At the age of eleven, she received devastating news. Her father, an American Soldier, lost his life in combat while serving a second tour for Operation Iraqi Freedom. It was dealing with this tragic loss that she found comfort in music. Ashliegh quickly realized life was too short not to pursue her dream. When asked about her father, she replies, “My dad was a passionate soldier, and he died doing something he believed in. In a sense…that’s how I feel about my music.” Ashliegh’s passion, hard work, and determination are beginning to payoff. Lisset is recently represented by William Morris. She has already opened for Sony recording artist, Jerrod Niemann at the K99.1FM “Unplugged Concert” in Dayton, Ohio. Her dream is to one day perform with her idol, Carrie Underwood and to perform at The Grand Ole Opry. Ashliegh continues to work hard at making her dreams come true. With every passing day, Ashliegh moves closer to that dream which will soon become her reality.
