Katie Cook Biography
Katie Cook has gained success hosting CMT Insider, a weekly entertainment and news magazine on MTV's sister network,
CMT. Cook became part of the CMT family in 2001 as host of the MTV Total Request Live spinoff, Most Wanted Live.
Since joining CMT, Cook has hosted a number of CMT specials, CMT original programs and red carpet coverage. In addition, Cook
has become a staple as a presenter at country music's most prestigious award shows and as a celebrity interviewer whose subjects
include Taylor Swift, Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, to name only a few.
Cook was born in London, and at the age of 5, her father, Songwriters Hall of Fame member Roger Cook, relocated the family
to Nashville to be a full-time songwriter. Katie Cook was fully immersed in the entertainment industry since she was born.
Eventually, the bug to join the family business kicked in. After high school, Cook began working on her singing career and
went back to England to work with power-manager Harry Barter (George Martin, Ultravox, Dead or Alive, Paul Young).
Cook returned to Nashville after landing a publishing deal with EMI out of London and a record deal with Curb Records. After
pursuing her solo music career, she auditioned for a host position at CMT, never knowing how landing the job would truly change
her life. Since then, she has worked on projects ranging from the Top 20 Countdown, Most Wanted Live and Making
the Video to numerous red carpet specials for the ACM, CMA and CMT Music awards. She has also been a guest on CNBC, MSNBC
and has been recognized as the face of CMT for almost a decade.
Cook and her husband have one daughter, Daisy Rocket, and split their time between Nashville and Los Angeles.
