The Great Divide Biography
The Great Divide formed in Stillwater, Okla., in 1992. Comprised of vocalist-lead guitarist Mike McClure, bassist Kelley Green, rhythm guitarist Scotte Lester and drummer J.J. Lester, the group honed its chops opening for artists including Chris LeDoux, Tracy Lawrence and the Bellamy Brothers before issuing their independent debut, Goin' for Broke, in 1994. In 1998, they released their second LP, Break in the Storm, later reissued on Atlantic Records. Revolutions followed on Warner Bros. in 1999.
Recorded in the historic Will Rogers Theater in Oklahoma, Afterglow was released in 2000 on Broken Bow Records. Remain arrived on their own imprint in 2002, and Under Your Own Song landed in 2005. McClure left the band for a solo career, and was replaced by Micah Aills. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
