Artists: Biography Sunny Sweeney  

Sunny Sweeney is from Longview, Texas, and initially wanted to be an improvisational comedian before she pursued a music career. She moved to New York City after high school but ended up working a variety of jobs, then moved to Austin, Texas. There, she joined a comedy troupe, and after she sang in a few skits, her fellow comedians encouraged her to try singing instead.

She landed her first gig in a bar in Austin called the Carousel Lounge in 2004 and gradually built an audience for her twangy, traditional country music by constantly booking gigs in the city's small venues. She also landed a European tour and shared a stage with Dwight Yoakam in Norway. Sweeney will release her debut album, Heartbreakers Hall of Fame, in early 2007.
