Rhonda Towns Biography
The daughter of a preacher, Rhonda Towns grew up singing in her father's church choir. After high school, she trained as a vocalist and enrolled in college. She made her debut as a country singer on Star Search and attracted the notice of producer Norro Wilson. She has showcased numerous times on behalf of black country music organizations and appeared on BET's Live From L.A. in 2000.
Though she recorded some demos, she didn't sign with a major label and returned to her home state of Arizona to work at one of her family's barbecue restaurants. In 2002, she connected with Harold Shedd, who produced more demos for her. She released her debut album, titled I Wanna Be Loved by You in 2006, on an independent label. It was produced by Jim Cotton, Shedd and Wilson.
