Rachael Warwick Biography

Born in the U.K., Rachel Warwick didn't consider singing until she was 13 when her father took her to Nashville. She also paid $10 to record a version of "Always on My Mind" at the Barbara Mandrell museum. Returning to the U.K., she convinced her drama teacher to stage a musical. Warwick played the role of Rizzo in Grease. After leaving school, she spent the next few years swapping time in a local studio. She would sing backing vocals for visiting bands in exchange for studio time for her own material. She formed her own touring band, Hype, in 1996. They toured for about a year until she started playing solo gigs. She sold enough self-released albums to finance a trip to Nashville. Producer Mark Moffatt lined up Reba McEntire's touring band to help Warwick record six songs in just a few hours. She released the single "Mistake" on the Impressive Records label in 2004 along with an EP. In late 2005, she issued a follow-up album, Anglo-Americana.
