CERRITO is creating a whole new throng of country music fans by singing and recording traditional country music alternating english and spanish shifting effortlessly between the two languages converting country fans to his “South Of The Border Sound”.
A love of country music and entertaining came naturally to CERRITO, one of six children growing up in Providence, Rhode Island in a multilingual Italian family. His father and uncles played guitars and his mother and grandmother sang Your Cheating Heart in Italian. “Singing with family especially my sisters’ and brother still amazes me”, smiles CERRITO.
“CERRITO is super talented, says Charo, and a real artist”.
An engagement in Las Vegas proved pivotal to his career. At one of his performances, international ‘cuchi-cuchi’ diva Charo hired him to be part of her show. “Working with Charo was like going to a university’, explained CERRITO. “Within six months of meeting CERRITO, he began working every night for two years at my showroom in Hawaii”, recalls Charo. After a record breaking 200 shows (performed back to back) and a featured story in People Magazine, CERRITO decided to move to Nashville. Since then he has shared the stage with such notables including the queen of country music Loretta Lynn, Charo, Vince Gill, Dottie West, Tim McGraw and Little Big Town.
