About Clark Hill
Music has, and will always remain the center of life for this group of guys and their families. Things have progressed as they have taken their high intensity but sometimes intimate show on the road. Tour buses, bright lights and big crowds haven’t changed these guys and it’s obvious that they would like to keep it that way.
Being from North Florida they bleed Southern Rock and growing up with that heartfelt genre has allowed them to infuse those elements into their version of mainstream current day “Country Music.”
With writings of “Those Were the Days” and “Papas Song” you can feel the gospel roots pumping through the heart as Lead Singer Jimmie Clark is often found singing through tears. Ripping guitar solos with an unmistakable tone generated by the fingers of Lead Guitarist Michael Calderin in almost every song. Never being bigger than the moment itself you will find Bass Guitarist Bennie Clifton with eyes closed, a smile on his face and the dancing that comes with feeling every note played. And holding down the groove and driving these guys to the climax of every song is the maturity and dynamics of a seasoned Drummer, Billy Baker.
When put together you have a tight, organic sound they like to call, Country with a Twist. From “Pecan Pie” to “4X4” from “Lake Day” to “Country Cruisin” from a Skynyrd cover to “The Compound” you will find the stories of Country Music that you have lived before, in a sound that you will never forget.
As these guys continue to grow both spiritually and physically they have found a self reflective path, where the music meets the soul and they want you to share this experience with them. Once you leave a Clark Hill show you are not a fan… you are FAMILY.
