About Cody Shaw & the Rhythm Boys
generation of this group. The Rhythm Boys began in 1941 with Clinton Shaw & the Rhythm Boys, Cody’s grandfather. The band continued with
Cody’s father, who formed Ben Shaw & the Rhythm Boys & toured with the group from 1964-1970. Ben now plays lead guitar for his son in the
newest representation of the band.
Cody formed his version of the Rhythm Boys in 2004 & immediately began touring. In 2006, the Rhythm Boys released their album “Three Chords &
the Truth”, a record that pays tribute to the origins of country music through its sound.
In 2012, after a brief hiatus, the Rhythm Boys hit the road again as Cody began working on a new album. In March of 2013, the band released their newest music to date, the 5-song EP “Lonesome”, which was recorded at their own studio, Flat 41 Music, out of their hometown, Wichita Falls.
“A fusion of western, blues, soul, & country, ‘I’m Lonesome’
is a clear insight into the diversity of the entire EP.”
~ James “Big Jim” Russell, 94.9 The Outlaw
“If James Dean had a CD or MP3 player in his porsche
back in the day, this EP would surely be in the rotation!”
~ Mike Cheney, Southern Music Scene
Cody Shaw & the Rhythm Boys continue to tour the Texas & Oklahoma regions, always looking to expand their boundaries
& bringing their style of country music to the crowds one show at a time.
