About Corey Hager
In April, 2012, after almost three years of demo recordings and crafting his sound, Corey ventured to Springfield, MO to record his first (3 track) EP, "I Like It That Way", with producer Kevin Gates (Never Shout Never, The Ready Set, Cady Groves), and ultimately released his finished product via iTunes, as well as other digital retailers. Influencing from classic bands like The Beatles, Johnny Cash, and Bob Dylan, Corey began playing what he likes to call "Folk Pop", and started to make a name for himself among the alternative scene, opening local shows for many Metal and Pop-Punk bands.
Corey has since been featured in Alternative Press Magazine AP&R (#288), had the opportunity to join the stage with many national bands (Cash Cash, Craig Owens, William Beckett, Hawthorne Heights, Front Porch Step, Chase Coy, Carter Hulsey...), including his own personal favorite, Never Shout Never (as well as a co-write session), guest appeared (more than once) and performed his fan favorite, "Babydoll", live-on-the-air for his home-town radio station C98.3 The Bull, and performed on a date of the 2013 Vans Warped Tour.
Recently stepping away from "folk-pop" and into the genre of country music, Corey discovered his “new-found passion” all over again, somehow even stronger than before. "Music had never felt so alive and meaningful." He began pushing his skills in songwriting, guitar playing, covering new material for songs, and crafting/“finding” his voice for singing, embracing his roots (from where and how he was born and raised), and completely just "letting go" who he was inside... Loving and taking with him everything he had earned up until this point, he had become eager to start fresh, re-invent himself, and challenge who he was, in what he felt was the next step to further his music goals and career.
Excited to write new chapters into his journey, Corey is currently in the studio recording a brand new album, all with songs he is very proud to been able to have written. Look out for new updates and music soon!
