One artist beginning, another looking to start again; that was the beginning of what would later become Cornfield Mafia. John Suter was on stage when he and Darrell McClellan met, and soon began working together. That was July 2008. The two soon learned of each others aspirations, and found they were, essentially, on the same path. Since that time, the two have formed a dynamic duo when it comes to writing and performing. In the time since starting work, the two have written and produced two E.P.s, "The Cornfield Mafia" and "Crop Circles." "The Cornfield Mafia," yielded songs, "Get It And Go," which achieved a #19 spot on the Cashbox Magazine Weekly Country Charts, and "By My Side," which broke the Top 10 by reaching #9 on the same charts. Though "Crop Circles," was not submitted to any charting system, it produced fan favorites, "Long Way To Nashville," and "With You." The E.P. has also generated interests from Music Row in Nashville. The band has performed their brand of country music while opening for national performers, such as, John Rich, Randy Houser, Easton Corbin, Phil Vassar, Colt Ford, Josh Thompson, Lo Cash Cowboys, Jeff Bates, John Michael Montgomery, Bush Hawg, and Confederate Railroad.
