When describing Dana its been said: “There is an old soul in that young body”. Nothing could be more true. Dana has been performing and writing her own music for many years. Her young age hides a seasoned musician who knows how to please an audience, understands what makes a good song great and is dedicated to leaving you loving her at the end of every show. Her song ideas are pulled from years of getting out and living life, enjoying all there is to offer, and they are sung with a voice that starts deep in her heart and resonates out with all the passion and feeling she can muster.
Dana comes from a musical background and has enjoyed playing and singing with her family her entire life. Whether it was performing with the family band or jamming it up at a kitchen party, music has always been a daily event.
Since moving to Halifax Dana has become a regular at many of the local performing centers, including, The Company House, The Carleton, The Casino, and the Seahorse Tavern. Dana has performed at NS Music Week, The Lunnenberg Folk Harbour Festival, and Gordie Sampson’s Songwriting Camp. Dana has recently finished recording a brand new CD featuring 8 of her original songs. She will be releasing this new project in early November 2012 and she looks forward to touring the Maritimes in support of the album, titled “The Long Goodbye”.
