Deidre Thornell fell in love with country music at a very young age. She began singing at talent shows, oprys in Texas and Oklahoma, and was designated lead vocal for the “Country Is My Rock” show at Six Flags Over Texas for two years. Although, Deidre had sung the National Anthem at various sporting events around Dallas, in 2011, she sang at Cowboy Stadium in front of 80,000 Cowboy fans for the Dallas-San Diego opening game. Even now, as she pursues a degree in Marketing from UNT, music remains in the forefront. She and her band are making their way through the southern region while promoting her latest single, Looking For a Place To Shine. In 2012, she won the local, state, and regional competition of the Texaco Country Showdown. Out of over 50,000 contestants who enter the contest, she, and 4 other finalists, not only appeared on stage, but were televised at The Ryman Auditorium, Nashville, in January 2013. Deidre has either opened or shared the stage with such notables as Diamond Rio, Jewel, Gretchen Wilson, Wade Bowen, Josh Abott, and Radney Foster. In April, her EP, Destination Unknown, was released on iTunes, as well as being featured on the front page of the country music section, under “New and Noteworthy”. Deidre, with her bountiful long red hair, four octave range, and a little choreography thrown in, really knows how to entertain her audience. She has clear-headed determination and a willingness to challenge herself. Her resolve is to sing like the best in the business; write songs that weave a story into melodies thread with infectious hooks; work with legendary producers, and to be in control of her fate.
