Don Schink is a singer/songwriter/guitar player/Nashville recording artist. He has been in music since he was a teenager. He taught himself to play guitar due to his intense love for music. He has played in various bands from time to time throughout his musical career as opportunities arose. However, most of his performances have been solo, by his own choice, at local establishments as well as churches in various states where he pastored churches. Don prefers to write and perform traditional country, Christian country, as well as country gospel music, with some ‘60s music thrown in from time to time.
Since taking an early retirement from the pastorate ministry, Don has devoted more time to developing his music career. Don has performed at the Grand Ole Opry for a private party, as well as performing with Cowboy Troy and Friends at Nashville’s Hard Rock Café. He is a member of Nashville’s Songwriters Association International and the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.

He performed regularly at Jo’s Chameleon Café for about 8 years and now performs at The Old Tyme Shop and Ice Cream Parlor, both of Tijeras, New Mexico, as well as occasional gigs in the greater Albuquerque area as opportunities permit. He and his friend, David VanBibber currently perform Fridays for the noontime crowd at Patricia’s Café in Albuquerque, New Mexico. David flew to Nashville to meet Don in November, 2013, where he sang backup vocals for the newest CD, “Favor with the Savior,” to be released in March, 2014.
In November, 2011, Don traveled back to Nashville at the invitation of Gene Breeden, who has performed with such country artists as Buck Owens, Merle Haggard and Tommy Overstreet, to record an album. This was done at Gene Breeden Studios with Don being accompanied by musicians who frequently perform with many of Nashville’s popular artists. This was the first of four albums, entitled, “Clean Country,” “Keeping It Clean In The Country,” “Connections,” and “Favor With The Savior.” All four albums consist of songs written and performed by Pastor Don.
Don was offered a recording contract with Tate Music Group, which resulted in the “Connections” CD. The other three were recorded at Gene Breeden’s Nashville studio.
