Doug Ahern and Matthew Bush joined to form the Americana band, Holly, in late 2012. Under their own independent label, Golden Road Records released the first full length, West Maryland Highlands on September, 30 2013. The two, who have collaborated on projects in previous years, most recently, produced a sound rooted in the country landscape of their native North Baltimore County, Maryland. Both songwriters offer listeners a compelling combination of down home and debonair. Drawing their lyrics from everyman experiences, they conjure with their first record a Mason-Dixon blend of both old country and moody, modern folk rock. West Maryland Highlands offers a clean sound and a nostalgic storyline fit for a country drive from the port city to the mountains due west.
Their next record is scheduled to be released in 2014. Look out for more from Holly as they continue to charm us with their rootsy rock and roll.
