About Jeanne

Jeanne Delph (lead vocalist), Dale Rhea (bass player), and Sandy Rhea (backup vocalist), were working together preparing a song for an Easter service in April of 1990, which is when Jeanne & the Parables were initially formed. Tom Eggers

(guitar and mandolin), a friend of Dale Rhea's, was invited to join the band. After going over a few songs that they were considering, and discussing what they could do for the Lord, they sought His direction and soon felt led to take their musical talents and gospel message out in the world. Sharon Diesenroth was added to the lineup as drummer in May of 1994; they also added banjo player Judy Slocum in July of 1995. The band represents four different churches, which has been a witness in itself by showing that God's people, no matter their specific religious bent, can and should unite as one with a common purpose, which is to promote the Lord Jesus Christ. Their sound is of the bluegrass and gospel , using modern as well as old-time gospel favorites. The band used some of their own compositions for their debut self-titled album, and their second release, Country Mountain Church. In 1999, Jeanne & the Parables could be found ministering throughout the state of Michigan as well as making personal appearances at festivals, parades, camp meetings and special public and private events. Their mission is to spread the gospel message to the lost and to edify, urge, and comfort believers; to go wherever God would lead them. They have adopted Colossians 4:17 as their fulfillment Scripture: " Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you fulfill it." ~ Larry Belanger, Rovi
