Imagine James Taylor, Bob Dylan and Keith Urban all rolled into one mutli-talented singer/ songwriter and you have John Deene.
Hailing from a small town in Tasmania, John Deene grew tired of playing with motorbikes, rounding cattle, chasing kangaroos, singing to the crop and living the ranch life. Armed with his 6 string guitar, John Deene went looking for his music dream.
John claims “music has always been in my blood, rounding up cattle gave me plenty of time to realize music was where I needed to be”.
So he left the range, headed to the closest small town, caught a Greyhound bus and moved to the big city. Here he studied music production at a reputable college. The big town wasn’t big enough for the dream; the mainland of Australia was calling.
John wandered around Australia looking for the best place to lay his cowboy hat. I tried the picturesque Gold Coast, the music was good but there were too many distractions. They had beautiful beaches and the girls were even nicer. Not the best scenario to live your music dream.
Perth was the answer. The beaches were just as good but there was an opportunity to work in a recording studio with one of Perth’s recording gurus, something not to be missed!
Once settled in Perth, a chance meeting with songwriter Scott-e. Scott-e had a swag of songs and was looking for a singer. John Deene had it all, the voice, the stage presence, the ability to make it. A new song writing partnership was about to happen. Something great, something natural, something worth listening to.
John Deene's first official release is Run On Back To Me.
