22 year old Singer Songwriter, Guitar Player and Multi-Instrumentalist, John Spicer, was raised deep in the southern region of Illinois, a place where cornfields run for miles and where farming and factory work put food on the table. John began playing guitar at age 4 and soon after picked up the banjo, dobro, mandolin, fiddle, harmonica, lap steel, bass guitar and piano. By age 12 John had become a multi-award winning banjo picker who performed all over the southern Illinois region. While John is a self admitted country boy through and through, his musical range and influence know no bounds. Some of his biggest musical influences include Brad Paisley, Eddie Van Halen, Vince Gill, John Mayer, Eric Clapton, John Fogerty, Doyle Dykes, Tommy Emmanuel and Chet Atkins. John was discovered at an early age by another former Southern Illinois native, Houston Curtis, founder of Big Vision Entertainment, Legend Group Studios and most recently Legend Group Records out of Los Angeles, California. Curtis has Continued to develop John’s career since age 18. Now at 21, John has recently signed a multi-year recording contract with Legend Group Records. Curtis will be producing John’s first record along with multi-platinum record producer Tom Fletcher whose illustrious career has been the cause for over 63 million records sold by a variety of top artists including Ozzy Osbourne, Toto, Yes, Don Henley and many more. Dave Weiderman, head of A&R and creator of the Rock Walk hall of Fame will serve as Executive Producer along with Curtis. Since his short time in Los Angeles, John has played sessions with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, George Clinton, National Recording artists Elvis Monroe and has also performed at LA’s famous Jazz club The Baked Potato. John endorses Evertune bridges and has been invited to play at NAAM on Fender’s official artist roster. Additionally, he was recently invited by Guitar Center’s Dave Weiderman and famed rock photographer, Robert Knight to join Knight’s illustrious new endeavor, The Brotherhood of Guitarists. John is a prolific songwriter who, in addition to his own material has also written songs with and for other up and coming Nashville recording artists. He is also writing music for film and television including a soundtrack for ‘The Jimmy Rodgers Saga’, a Jimmy Rodgers Documentary featuring Merle Haggard, Buck Owens and many other country superstars. John will begin tracking his first album in early 2014.
