About Kasey Tyndall
From major artists to major radio stations, people love talking about Kasey Tyndall after hearing her sing and watching her perform.
Nashville’s Kasey Tyndall is not your typical girl in country music. The 19 year old brings her brand of fist-raisin’, bar-top-dancin’, beer-drinkin’ music to Nashville by way of her roots in Eastern North Carolina. AXS.com describes her appropriately as “If Hank Jr. and Joan Jett were to have a kid, she would be Kasey Tyndall.”
Tyndall first gained local traction in 2014 when she won a highly competitive contest hosted by QDR 94.7 (Raleigh, NC) where she sang a duet with country megastar Keith Urban on his “Raise ‘Em Up” tour stop at the Walnut Creek Amphitheater.
Tyndall’s performance fortunately was not a passing viral moment on Twitter. Radio personalities, venue owners, producers and well-respected songwriters and musicians began calling.
Soon afterward she found herself moving to Nashville and within days was writing with some of the top writers in town and recording with Tyler Cain (Meghan Linsey, Ashley Monroe, James Otto). She has also recorded with Nick Autry (Carrie Underwood, Buddy Guy, The Raging Idiots).
When describing her songwriting process and where she draws inspiration she says, “If something moves me past normal, I write it down. If it doesn’t move me, I can’t expect it to move someone else. Life gives you moments that move you… I make songs from those moments.” Her influences stem from Alison Krauss, Reba McEntire. Loretta Lynn, and Miranda Lambert.
In addition to her duet with Urban, she’s hit the road playing the festivals and honky-tonks in the southeast and has opened for Josh Thompson, Parmalee, The Cadillac 3, Kelsea Ballerini, Rodney Atkins, Thompson Square, Corey Smith, Easton Corbin, Colt Ford, Lucy Hale, and Jason Michael Carroll. She continues touring and creating word-of-mouth growth wherever she goes.
Oh, and by the way, all of what you’ve just read has happened in less than 9 months. The future looks bright for this Nashville newcomer.
