About Katy Hurt
One of her earliest singing successes came in the Live and Unsigned competition with a Final performance at London’s O2 Arena. A couple of years ago she returned to America, spending time in Nashville, making one of her first recordings at the legendary Sun Studios. An experience guaranteed to steal the heart of anyone with a love of country music.
Katy spent her early years in New York, gaining an understanding and appreciation of the country sound, subsequently moving with her family to the UK, where she now lives in Southern England. Earlier this year guitar-playing Katy supported Luke and Mel at Fort San Antone and in June was invited to perform at the 800th anniversary celebrations of the Magna Carta at Runnymede. She has recently started full time work on her music at The Academy of Contemporary Music and is working in conjunction with Metropolis Studios.
Katy’s new single, Part Time Girlfriend, follows hot on the heels of the emotional roller coaster of the Blue Snake EP, with a more mature, harder-hitting, message and sound. An anthem for anyone looking to liberate themselves from a one-sided relationship. This is one independent young lady, who ain’t playing second fiddle!
