Donald Kevin Church singer/songwriter was born October 18, 1974 in Greenville, North Carolina to Don and Pauline Church. Church began learning guitar at age 15 and immediately started writing songs. Four years later he was performing at coffee houses after meeting Andre Evans who has co-written many songs (i.e. Before It's Over With, A Little Change). Church attended Appalachian State University in Boone, NC where he honed his own material and graduated in May 1997. Church has included Evans on all of his releases to date. In the summer of 2008 Church relocated to Charleston, SC which provided him with plenty of opportunities to meet and work with other local artists like Skye Paige, Cary Ann Hearst and Reid Stone. He has currently teamed up with Jefferson Coker and is performing in the Southeast.
Career:
Church released his first work "Hidden in Plain Sight" in June 1999. The album brought some success, but due to other interests Church took a break from performing. He later returned to the studio in 2002 and worked with Tim Lawter and Rusty Milner in the Marshall Tucker Band, but none of the work recorded is available for sale at this time. Church returned to the studio and released Let It Begin after relocating to Charleston, SC in 2009. The album helped him break new ground. He has since been touring ever since. He occasionally sits in with Jefferson Coker in a band known as Coker Church. Church's current album "A Little Change" was released August 2010 and has been labeled as his best work to date. All of the albums have been produced by Kevin Church and Kenneth C. Engelhardt Mustard Seed Records. Dan Balog in Nashville, TN helped Co-Produce "A Little Change."
