About Leah Seawright
Over the next few years, Seawright, continued performing and writing, recording two gospel albums. In 2005, she recorded her debut country album, Country Girl 101. The album showcased 14 tracks, 13 of which, written by Seawright. This album birthed two charted singles. Legendary NASCAR driver, Richard Petty, as well as current driver, A.J. Allmendinger, made appearances in her video, "On the Backroads”.
While working on her first country project, Seawright met Country Music Hall of Fame drummer, Mark Herndon. At the time, the former Alabama stick man was working as a corporate pilot. Seawright asked him to come and hear some of the music she’d recorded. “He was listening to it and liking it,” she remembers. “I just jokingly told him he needed to come out of retirement and be my drummer!” After mulling over the prospect, though, Herndon took her up on it. He even played a few licks on her album and wrote the liner notes, in which he praises her for being “genuine and authentic.”
To start 2012 out with a bang, Leah went into the studio again to complete her second country album. She collaborated with producer Jeremy Stover, the wizard behind Justin Moore’s string of hits. "Leah has a magical way of communicating in her music. Alabama soul that's tender and tough with a sweetness that hooks you from beginning", declares Stover.
The first fruit of that artistic pairing is Leah’s raucous “Til Your Boots Are Dirty,” which was the first charted single from the record. Leah wrote two of the six cuts in this new collection. "Mama Prayed"celebrates the redemption that comes from a mothers faith and unconditional love. "Dixie Daughter" pulsates with high spirits and sassy southern pride. The complete album is due out summer of 2012.
After completing her latest cd, Seawright teamed up with Montana Silversmiths, the world’s leading western buckle and jewelry maker as celebrity endorsee for the organization and brand. Leah appeared in Montana Silversmiths' CMT commercial featuring her latest single, "Til Your Boots Are Dirty". “We are pleased to have Leah as a personality for our brand,” says StacyLynn Ellis, director of marketing, “She is both a talented musician and a beautiful person inside and out. This partnership is a great fit because our fans both value quality and art.”
Seawright, has performance experience on a national level. She has shared the stage with several well-known artists, such as Luke Bryan, Darius Rucker and Charlie Daniels; her fan base expands across the country.
2013 brings new ventures Seawright's way. She'll be slipping off those cowgirl boots for a pair of hunting boots. Fox Sports South, in conjunction with Quail Unlimited and Trophy Quest chose Leah to be the host of an upcoming reality hunting show. Taping multiple episodes this winter, she plans to visit several hunting plantations across the country. "I'm so excited! I feel truly blessed to get to meet genuinely good folks on these hunts. Hopefully, I will inspire more females and families to experience the joy of becoming a part of the hunting family." expresses Seawright.
Leah is set to release her second single off her EP titled,"Set It On Fire". The video was filmed in late 2012. The radio single, as well as the video, will debut in January. Seawright also plans on touring in support of her new album in the Spring/Summer of 2013.
Looking back down the road she’s traveled to reach this point, Seawright says, “It’s just been a roller coaster. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve always been a glass-half-full gal.”
Well... whatever her glass is half full of, you can be sure it’s high octane!
