Dazzling red curls and jewel-blue eyes are what you see; an amazing voice and infectious personality is what you hear; exuberant and full of life is what you feel when you watch her perform. Lexi James is the whole package, winning over audiences wherever she appears.
The New England native has always held a deep rooted passion and love for song. Influenced at an early age by legendary artists such as Whitney Houston and Martina McBride, her modern sense of flair and style is reminiscent of today’s country and pop stars, such as Carrie Underwood, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift. “One of the first voices I ever heard was Whitney Houston,” Lexi recalls. “I fell in love with the power and emotion in her voice. She was the first person I heard that made me want to sing. I love a lot of different styles of music, but I have the utmost respect for singers who are vocalists.”
Lexi is candid in talking about her experiences with bullying. "Yes, I was bullied", she tells people. "Many times. Not just in elementary school. Not just in middle school. Not just in high school. Not just once. Not just twice. But many times… my whole life. I never have been and never will be cruel enough to bully ANYBODY. Because I know how it feels to be criticized and attacked for no reason. I stutter sometimes when I'm nervous and it's partly because I have social anxiety."
There’s one song on her first CD that she is especially proud of. It’s called "This Is My Time." Co-written with her keyboard player, Bill, it only took 2 days to write because, as she puts it, "Everything kind of fell together - I think because the song is just SO special. It has a message that needed to be shared…"
The most important thing you'll ever need to know about Lexi James is that she loves to sing. Don’t miss your chance to catch this rising star in action.
