Lindsay Bruce is the voice of California Country. Born and raised in Northern California, Lindsay penned her first song at age 7- a country tune sung into a cassette tape recorder lent by her Grandma. While she cites herself as being "too shy" to share her songs, she shared her work in another way; at 13 Lindsay wrote her first children's book which, when illustrated and completed, helped her land a national ad campaign with Mudd Jeans and role as a Junior Advocate for the National Red Cross. This, along with her time signed with Passport Models SF- something she cites as being a key stepping stone in getting over her shyness and 'stage fright'- gave her the courage to share her real passion: songs.
At 21, after finding success on YouTube under the alias CowboyBootsBruce, Lindsay moved to Nashville to pursue songwriting professionally. To prepare, Lindsay interned at NBC, MTV and Nashville social media company Crowd Surf, LLC and acquired a degree in marketing.
Upon moving, Lindsay discovered much common ground between the home of country music and her own. The culture of cut offs and bonfires was no stranger to the beach-going Californian, and the emphasis on storytelling and stringed instruments matched her own. After three years of playing everywhere from near-empty barbecue restaurants to The Bluebird, Lindsay found a break to the big stage: The Voice.
Lindsay joined the 60,000+ hopeful auditionees before becoming part of the 6th season of the NBC show. As part of Team Shakira Lindsay worked with her coach- and Miranda Lambert- to refine her performance craft.
Having shared rosters with Love + Theft, Frankie Ballard and Tate Stevens, Lindsay is now touring and promoting the release of her EP and next single, "It Shouldn't Be."
