About Marie E Norton LMP
Marie has been practicing massage full time since her graduation approximately 5 years ago. Her broad experience has been very grounding; it has included medical massage as well as therapeutic, spa treatment and Lomi Lomi. She has had the opportunity to expand her massage knowledge with a wide variety of experience and continue to hone her skills and passion in other modalities such as: Myofascial Release, Hot Seashells, and massage for pregnant women. Marie became a massage therapist because she cares about helping people feel better and more able to move around without soreness or tightness anywhere in their body. She is known for her sensitive hands, and her ability to feel where all the knots are.
What led her to massage was 4 months pregnant with her son, she was at a four way stop on a highway intersection on the Peninsula, enjoying the beautiful countryside of Washington State when she was rear ended by a pickup truck. Fortunately, neither was injured although she had lower back pain. Marie was looking for a massage therapist that did pregnancy massage in the yellow pages and happened to find one that worked with people from auto accidents. All through the rest of the pregnancy she received massage and was inspired to become a massage therapist herself. Many years later she finished her High School credits and graduated from North Seattle Community College in June of 2007. She had been exploring local massage schools, choosing Cortiva Institute of Massage, started massage school in April of 2008 and completed the program in September of 2009. Marie's dream has finally come true, to help heal people and the community in the Seattle area. Many of her clients have learned the benefits of regularly scheduled massage for the maintenance of good health and comfort in their bodies.
