For many, Modern Day Storyteller Ray Scott needs no introduction. A major label release of Ray's debut album My Kind Of Music in 2005 brought the singer enormous critical acclaim. The title song went straight to the top 40, however his fresh approach to country traditions had him off the label less than two years later. Since then, Ray Scott has continued to experience a level of success many major label artists might envy. In 2009, Ray connected with producer Dave Brainard (Jerrod Niemann, Brandy Clark) to record Rayality. Released in 2011, the album included the single "Those Jeans," which received a different kind of high-tech support through airplay on SiriusXM and went on to sell in excess of 200,000 copies. Scott and his team are planning bigger and better for the 2014 release of the anticipated self-titled album Ray Scott. "We decided to amp things up and make a record exactly the way we wanted. "It’s country music the way I interpret it," he says, and as a whole, Ray Scott is the most descriptive name possible for the collection. The first single off the album, ‘Drinkin Beer’, is getting a large amount of radio play in secondary markets, Music Row reporting stations and has great support once again from Sirius XM The Highway. Scott has a music video in post production, and is promoting a lyric video on his Youtube channel in the meantime. “I’m not out there wiggling my ass for anybody, but what I do has kept me alive out there in the world because it is different enough that people get passionate about it. They stick with it. I don't sound like everybody else, and I don't want to." Full of promise and encouraged by fans everywhere, Ray Scott plans on making a splash with his kind of music in 2014.
