About Smooth Hound Smith
After playing their first casual gig together in East Nashville in the summer of 2012, Caitlin and Zack have hit the ground running. Playing an abundance of shows (over 200 in the past year), including numerous, self- booked DIY national tours (over 30,000 road miles traveled to date), they recently were able to finish and release their debut full-length album (self-titled). Enlisting the help and guidance of Los Angeles-based producer Raymond Richards (Local Natives, honeyhoney, The Parson Red Heads), they?ve created something expansive that runs the stylistic gamut from heartfelt, visceral and lyric-driven folk anthems like “Young and Golden”, to straight-forward, grungy blues and boogie as heard on “Steal Your Crown” and “Get Low”.
Smooth Hound Smith have crafted an intensely personal record that has received "top adds" on AmericanaRadio.org in early 2014, as well as garnered attention from media outlets such as Nashville's independent radio, WRLT Lightning 100, and publications like American Songwriter and RELIX Magazine; this is a record where “every song sounds timeless and classic, like a forgotten hit from yesteryear” (yorktonthisweek.com). They currently split their time between Nashville, Los Angeles, and their tour van.
