The Country Devils have been performing & recording albums since the
bands inception in 2001. Mike Beresh and Jason Harkins met at a Everything
Bagels show in November of 2000. The two quickly became friends and began making
music together. Dave Hubbard (Jason’s roommate at the time) soon joined the two
along with guitarist Shane Grimm. The quartet released two albums together in
2001(a shotgun named Lucy) & 2002 (40 miles outside the city)
Grimm departed shortly after. In 2003 the band released the live album (Live
August 13th 2003) for Nice Package
Productions with help from friend and Dobro player Brian Swain and also Fiddle
player Anne Pape.


The group continued to play shows throughout the north east for the next few
years including several performances at Nissan Pavilion in Manassas Virginia. In
2005 double bassist Bob Brooks joined the group fulltime . In 2008 the group
released the self titled (The Country Devils album) with help from friend
Audrey Hamilton on Fiddle and Swain on Dobro. Hubbard briefly departed to Chile
after its release for a year of wanderlust and the group performed as the trio
of Harkins, Beresh & Brooks until he returned in late 2009.


In 2009 the band signed a distribution deal with in grooves media (San
Francisco)via porkchop records. All three studio albums were re-issued in
march of 2009. The live album was and still is unable to be released due to
legal issues. Guitarist Jon Harvey joined the group in 2010 and the band began
recording their latest album (You don’t wanna know me) with recording
wiz Dave Heil at Rocks recording studio with help from female vocalist AndI
Schler, whom the band met while playing in Maine.


Its was the bands most indulgent studio recording to date. The new material
heavily showcased the bands new harmony vocal style, and the band even added
electric bass on two tracks with help from friend Brian Rumbley. The album was
released in February of 2011 and was their fastest selling album to date.
Longtime collaborator Adam miller (Harmonica) also joined the band in 2011.


Over the years they have shared stages and festival dates with the Hackensaw
Boys, Will Johnson, Sons of Bill, Drag The River, Canyon, Lawnchair, Little Country Giants, Booker Lee and the county fair, Slobberbone, Scott Birahm, Joe Fletcher, Kevin Seconds, and many more. The
group recently was chosen to perform at the 2012 Delfest music festival in
Cumberland Maryland.
