Tim was born no. 7 out of 9 kids. 7 boys and 2 girls, in that order. Well it all started with his oldest brother Troy. He bought a cheap guitar from an old catalog back in the 60's. Troy tried playing but gave it up pretty quick. Tim's second oldest brother, Mark, picked it up and it didnt take long. He had the talent. Mark improved very quickly. Mark also started playing bass guitar and became a member of a band in Pampa Texas called Coy Worley and The Travelers. Well Mark showed Tim a little bit of stuff on the guitar when he was only 4. They say Tim picked the guitar with his thumb back then, guitar flat on the floor, while he put his left thumb on the frets. Mark's music career ended before he had time to get it started because Mark died of cancer at the age of 22 in march 1966. Well Tim was 8 years old then and Mark left all his stuff to him. Mark had a Gibson bass, and a Gretsch guitar. Tim began to listen to Mark's tapes on reel to reel and began to learn chords. Tim was in the band in school so he began to read music. Tim wrote a few songs back then but not many. Tim joined a band in 1985 called Steel Water Bridge where he played lead guitar and sang backup. Tim had the pleasure of opening for the one and only GENE WATSON at the CATALINA CLUB in PAMPA, TEXAS while he was in this band. Tim got married after that and settled down a little bit. He has 3 great kids of his own now but also is divorced after 2 marriages. Tim's mom died in 06 with cancer and shortly before his mom's death she told him to keep playing the guitar and singing because she knows one day something great will happen with his music. After Tim's mom died Tim began to write again. He entered TH NEXT GAC STAR summer of 08 and he stayed at the top of the charts the whole time on the music nation website although he didn't make the finalists. He entered THE COLGATE COUNTRY SHOWDOWN summer of 09 in ELKHART KS and Tim was one of the 15 finalists! Tim has written over 300 songs now and has music out in major online stores. A couple years ago Tim became a VIP member of the josie show with Josie Passantino. And a little over a year ago Tim started his own classic country station on live 365 called Country Tunes Radio. Tim also broadcasts his own show weekly called The Tim Garmon Show Monday nights at 11pm easten 10pm central time where he interviews great independent country and gospel artists. You can listen to his station at this website: http://www.countrytunesradio.com
