I was born in the beautiful mountains of Eastern KY, one of a family of seven. I am from a musical family on both sides of the tree. If a guitar or banjo was thrown into the crowd at a family reunion, I'm pretty sure the catcher could play it. My dad was injured in the coal mines and we moved to Lexington, KY to be near some of our family. I am a country music and gospel singer. I write and sing traditional country. I love the old songs I grew up singing. Patsy Cline is probably my favorite singer. I love to sing along with Merle Haggard, Bobby Bare, or any of the great voices from that era. I wrote the lyrics and melody to all of the songs on my CD "Runnin' With the Horses". I enjoyed every moment of the time I spent recording it and the local studio here (Grooves Recording Studio) was wonderful to work with. I worked for a Thoroughbred magazine here until I retired. I sang a lot and wrote a lot of songs when I wasn't working.I never take for granted the feeling of awe when I take the microphone in hand. In the words of Elvis "Without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain’t got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend - without a song.'
