About Wiley Chandler
Born in and deeply influenced by the South, Wiley, a singer, songwriter & guitarist, has been described as ‘a breath of fresh air’, starting with tradition but not bound by it. While paying homage to the roots of country music he is playing his role in redefining the genre as part of the crop of young country artists today. Staking claim to what belonged to once- young guitar players such as Vince Gill & Keith Urban, Wiley relies heavily on his unique approach to playing the same instrument; and when his vocal finds it’s way into a song, it displays the delicate balance of a seasoned professional.
His ability to affect audiences can be found throughout his work. From the heartfelt & enduring ‘Living In A Lullaby’, to the thoughtful & timeless ‘Take Away’, the intimate ‘We Never Do’, and the illuminated up-tempo ‘Run With The Night’, this strong collection of new material stays close to the organic place it came from. When Chandler talks about writing he says, “I’m drawing inspiration from my life, from the place I’ve come from and the places I’ve been, from the people I know, from history, from movies, from books… from everything I see and hear.” and on creating a sound that is all his own, “I think it’s my desire for greatness. I know I’m not there yet, and I hope I never think I am. But, I’ll always be trying.”
Sharing the stage with some of music’s biggest stars, Wiley Chandler has established a notable resume, gaining fans across genres as the opening act for the likes of James Taylor, Kings of Leon, Keith Urban, Vince Gill, The Fray, Ryan Adams, and The Avett Brothers among others. As authentic and uncompromising of an artist, entertainer and storyteller as one could find, Wiley breathes new life into the genre and gives music listeners all of the right reasons to be a fan.
