CMT Contests

How To Enter

The contest is no longer accepting submissions and is currently in the judging process.

Fan voting begins on February 1, 2015. Once the panel of industry judges have finished all rounds of judging and selected the top 10 songs, these songs will be posted here for a period of one month (February 1-28, 2015). Friends, family and fans will have the opportunity to log-on, listen and vote for their favorite song. The song that accumulates the most votes at the end of the voting period will be awarded the Grand Prize.

All winners will be announced in early March 2015.

  • Music industry executives, professional songwriters and NSAI board members judge songs based on lyrics, melody and composition. Performance and production will not be evaluated.
  • Prizes are awarded to one (1) Grand Prize CMT Listeners' Choice Winner, one (1) Lyric-Only Winner, ten (10) Runners-Up and ten (10) Honorable Mentions. All songs entered receive a personalized score sheet.

Charlie Worsham is the 2006 Grand Prize Winner of the NSAI Song Contest Presented by CMT. He has been called part of the next class of country music stars. With one hit under his belt and more on the way, the multi-instrumentalist has a lot of Nashville superstars pulling for him. He was handpicked to play shows with Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert and Darius Rucker. Others like Eric Church and Dierks Bentley have called on Charlie's talents in the studio, having him play on their albums. A Mississippi native, Worsham co-wrote and co-produced his 11-track debut album, Rubberband, with Ryan Tyndell (Executive Produced by Arturo Buenahora) in a small independent studio in the edgy arts community of Nashville's East Side. It features his current single, "Want Me Too," and his debut single, the Top 15 hit "Could It Be." Additionally, two of his biggest musical idols -- Marty Stuart and Vince Gill -- join him on "Tools of the Trade."
