Home Depot Recognizes Country Music Humanitarians
The Home Depot Humanitarian Award was created to recognize an artist or group in the country music industry who is committed to serving others and who has a generosity of spirit and a dedication to helping build the dreams of those in need. This is the only fan-voted award in the 39-year history of the Academy of Country Music Awards, and it provides country music fans an opportunity to vote for and acknowledge the one country music artist or group who has most inspired them through their work and deeds. Previous winners, chosen by the fans, include Reba McEntire and Lonestar.

This year's winner is Martina McBride, and she received a beautiful crystal award designed specially by Tiffany & Co. She will soon choose one area to receive a brand new playground through the efforts of The Home Depot and KaBOOM!, a non-profit organization that brings together volunteers to build much-needed playgrounds in one-day barn raising construction events.
