St. Jude Children's Hospital
Charlie also contributes to the children at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. Charlie proudly serves on the St. Jude professional advisory board. He and his wife, Hazel, were the special guests at the Painting a Bright Future dinner and auction at The Palm Restaurant in Nashville, Tenn., in 2003, helping to raise $72,000.

The Jason Foundation
The Jason Foundation is a national non-profit organization whose mission is the prevention of youth suicide through programs of education and awareness. Charlie has served as national ambassador for The Jason Foundation since 2002. His involvement includes the recording of public service announcements for the organization, co-hosting their biggest fund raising event, The Phillip Fulmer Golf Classic, and his commitment to the 2004 event as well as their print campaign.

His Honors
Charlie Daniels has received many honors for his efforts:
  • Given the Sequoyah award in 1993 for his work with STAR (Support Tennessee Adult Readers).
  • Named the MG (Myasthenia Gravis) Foundation's Man of the Year in 1980.
  • Awarded the National Guard's Gold Rush Award in 2002 for Continual and Exemplary Patriotism.
  • Received the Jefferson Award in 1981 from the American Institute for Public Service.
  • Named 1993's Humanitarian of the Year by the Country Radio Broadcasters.

Charlie Daniels

Throughout Charlie's career, much of his music has been dedicated to America and the efforts of the US Military with songs like "Still In Saigon," "In America," "This Ain't No Rag, It's a Flag," "God Bless the Mother" among others. Charlie Daniels has become a favorite among the thousands of service men and women he has spent years visiting and entertaining with trips to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Kosovo, Bosnia, Germany and Korea. He has also done several performances in the Adriatic Sea aboard aircraft carriers and for domestic bases in the U.S. through the Spirit of America Tour in 2003. Charlie also participated in the Stars for Stripes' program Operation Nightwatch. In 2003, Charlie organized the Charlie Daniels and Friends Mundy-Musice Tribute Concert to raise money for the widows of two Wilson County [Tennessee] police officers killed in the line of duty.

Charlie Daniels has dedicated his life to the Lord, his family, his music and helping others.
