The 2011 CMT Music Awards were broadcast live from Nashville on June 8 at 8 p.m. ET on CMT and CMT.com. The show honored
the best country music videos of the year and featured country's biggest names performing live.
Beginning April 27 and ending June 7, CMT.com fans voted for their favorite videos which ultimately determined the winners.
Videos that debuted on CMT between March 2, 2010, and March 28, 2011, were eligible for the 2011 CMT Music Awards. Finalists were determined by a blue-ribbon panel that included noted country music journalists, as well as music industry and CMT executives.
Tickets to the 2011 CMT Music Awards, country music's first fan-voted awards show, went on sale and sold out Saturday (May 21). The show aired live from Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville on June 8 on CMT and CMT.com.
Kid Rock returned to host the 2011 CMT Music Awards. "Hosting the CMT awards was a wonderful bridge to a great after party," he told Us Weekly. "I'm looking forward to crossing that bridge again this year."
The biggest stars in country music will party with their most devoted fans tomorrow night, June 8th when Nashville's only
completely fan-voted award show takes the stage at Bridgestone Arena.
As we prepare for the CMT Music Awards, we want to answer a few of your questions:
Don't have tickets?
Sorry, all tickets are sold out. Thinking of buying when you get here? Be cautious if you decide to purchase tickets from an unauthorized source. We can only guarantee the tickets sold directly from Ticketmaster and the Bridgestone Arena box office. What time do I need to arrive at the Awards?
Doors open at 5:30p.m. Doors will close promptly at 6:30 p.m. at which time all guests must be in their seats. The live telecast begins at 7 p.m.
What if I arrive late?
Please allow ample time for parking due to construction and busy parking lots. Because this is a live television event, empty seats that appear on camera will be filled with seat fillers. Late arrivals will be held until a commercial break.
What should I wear?
We encourage all audience members to dress as if you are going to a concert or a night strolling Broadway. The best colors for TV are solid, medium and dark colors. We encourage all audience members not to wear big prints or white, as these don't look good through the camera lens.
Why does my ticket say Mosh 1?
If you have a ticket that says Mosh 1, this is the designation for a particular floor area. You can view a map on the Ticketmaster website. These tickets are standing room only -- no seating -- but you won't want to sit down and miss a second of the music.
I have a ticket that says Limited View.
What does that mean? Due to the nature of live television productions, there may be unforeseen set pieces or production equipment which may cause part of your view to be obstructed.
How can I attend the Red Carpet?
Unfortunately the red carpet is indoors this year and not available for view.
Tickets cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
CMT Music Awards fans are an important part of the energy of the show. We need your enthusiasm, whistles and cheers, so please remain in your seat while we are broadcasting the show. Besides, if you leave your seat, you never know what you may miss.
