Official Voting Rules
At the time of voting, individuals must be at least 13 years of age or older to vote, legal residents of one of the fifty (50) United States or District of Columbia or Canada and cannot be an employee, agent or representative of Country Music Television Inc. or Viacom Media Networks, a division of Viacom International Inc. (collectively, "VMN"), Viacom Inc., or any of their respective parent companies, affiliate or related companies.
(a) General Voting Period: The voting period for each of the foregoing categories will commence on May 7, 2019 at or around 10:00am AM Eastern Time (ET) and shall continue through and end on June 4, 2019 at 11:59 PM ET. At the end of the General Voting Period, the top five (5) nominees for Video of the Year will move on to the VOTY Show Day Voting Period with all previous votes erased and the tabulation beginning at "0" for each of the five (5) remaining VOTY nominees.
(b) VOTY Show Day Voting Period: For the Video of the Year category only, voting will resume on Show Day at approximately 8:00 AM ET and shall continue through and end on Show Day at or around 10:00 PM ET, with the winner being announced during the live broadcast of the Show before the 10:15 PM ET timeline, subject to change in VMN’s sole discretion.
Throughout each voting period, you will be able to vote as many times as you like.
(a) General Voting Period: VOTING WILL BE ONLINE ONLY DURING THE GENERAL VOTING PERIOD. Go to www.vote.cmt.com and click the web vote button next to the nominee for whom you want to vote. Then, follow the instructions to vote (NOTE: you will have to authenticate your vote using Captcha).
If you are accessing the Website using a mobile device, you must (a) have a plan with a wireless carrier which includes a data service and (b) use a wireless device that is capable of accessing the Internet. Voting via mobile device shall be offered on an "as is" basis and may not be available in all areas of the U.S. or Canada at all times. Voting via mobile device may cease to be available to you in the event of product, software, coverage or other service changes made by your wireless carrier.
Standard data rates and other charges may apply all as provided in your wireless service rate plan. (Please contact your wireless carrier for pricing plans and details).
(b) VOTY Show Day Voting Period: VOTING WILL BE ONLINE AND VIA TWITTER DURING THE VOTY SHOW DAY VOTING PERIOD. Voting online shall be as per sub-clause (a) above.
VOTING VIA TWITTER: A Twitter account is required for entry. You may vote on your web enabled mobile device via the Twitter app during the VOTY Show Day Voting Period by (a) tweeting #CMTawards and #VOTE[ARTIST’S FIRST NAME] to count as one vote (the “Hashtag Vote”); or (b) follow the Hashtag Vote instructions in any call to action provided in any tweet message received from VMN; and then follow CMT’s Twitter account so you can see updates and announcements related to the VOTY winner. You must submit your Hashtag Vote in accordance with the foregoing instructions during the VOTY Show Day Voting Period to count as a vote. Retweets will count as valid votes. Votes that exceed 280 characters will not count. Multiple Tweets in one original Tweet will not count as valid votes. Submissions with the Hashtag Vote constitute your acceptance of these Official Rules. Votes must be submitted as directed and within the timeframe specified by VMN. The failure of an entrant to comply with the foregoing may result in an incomplete or disqualified Vote. VMN has the sole discretion to determine whether a submission qualifies as a Vote.
Any individual who has not reached the age of majority in his/her state of residence should obtain the consent of the responsible party of the wireless device prior to submitting a vote whether ONLINE or via TWITTER.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ANY AND ALL SUBMISSIONS AND METADATA SUBMITTED VIA VOTING IN CONNECTION WITH THE SHOW MAY BE PUBLICLY VIEWABLE. IN ADDITION, PARTICIPANTS ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEIR POSTS MAY BE REPOSTED BY THE PUBLIC OR OPEN TO PUBLIC COMMENTARY, FOR WHICH VMN SHALL NOT BE LIABLE.
Use of any device to automate a vote is prohibited, including but not limited to software-generated, robotic, programmed, script, macro or other automated votes. VMN reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual (and remove any votes from that individual) it suspects or finds: (i) to have used a software-generated, robotic, programmed, script, macro or other automated online/WAP or texting vote; (ii) to have tampered with the voting process; (iii) to be acting in violation of these Official Voting Rules; or (iv) to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. VMN reserves the right to remove votes at its sole discretion.
If, for any reason, any aspect of this voting process is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical or system failures or disruption, 'Acts of God' or terrorist attacks, or any other causes beyond the control of VMN which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the voting process or for any reason VMN deems it necessary, VMN reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the voting process and reserves the right in its sole discretion to determine the winner(s). VMN reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with any aspect of the voting process or the operation of the voting process or website; to be acting in violation of these Official Voting Rules; or to be acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person and void all associated votes.
You participate in this voting process at your own risk. VMN, or Twitter or any of their respective parent companies, affiliated companies, related companies, sponsors, subsidiaries and advertising agencies, and any entity associated with this voting process ("Released Parties") are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) difficulty accessing telecom systems; (ii) errors in transmission; (iii) service outage or delays or for any problems or technical malfunctions of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software, failure of email or players on account of any technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site or combination thereof; (iv) any incomplete, lost, late, delayed, misdirected or garbled votes or failure to receive votes; (v) injury or damage to you or to any other person’s computer or mobile phone related to or resulting from participating in, or downloading materials or software, or attempts to participate in or download materials or software related to this voting process or (vi) failures or malfunctions of phones (including wireless phones/handsets), phone lines or telephone systems, cellular equipment towers, telephone systems or wireless services or other communications malfunctions. Released Parties are not responsible for and shall not be liable for: (i) any condition caused by events beyond the control of Released Parties that may cause the voting to be disrupted or corrupted; (ii) typographical or other errors in the printing, the offering or the administration of these Official Voting Rules or (iii) any errors in the announcement of potential winner(s).
Participants assume all liability for any injury or damages caused or claimed to be caused by his or her participation in the voting opportunity described in these Official Voting Rules, and release Released Parties and any party associated with the production or exhibition of this Show and their respective officers, directors, employees, shareholders, parents, subsidiaries and affiliates from any such claim or liability.
By participating in this voting process, you agree to be bound by these Official Voting Rules. Failure to comply with these Official Voting Rules may result in a voter’s disqualification solely at the discretion of VMN. VMN reserves the right to modify these Official Voting Rules at any time in VMN’s sole discretion.
All interpretations of these Official Voting Rules and the decisions of VMN relating to this voting process are final.
The nominee who receives the highest number of valid votes in each category, as determined by VMN in its sole discretion, will be deemed the winner of the category. In the event this voting process is interrupted or found to have been tampered with in any way or for any other reason including without limitation a dispute or tie and VMN deems it necessary or appropriate, VMN reserves the right to make the final determination as to which of the nominees will be declared the winner of the category and may take into consideration the number of votes received by a nominee up until the time of the interruption or cancellation of the voting process. Nominees are prohibited from obtaining votes by any fraudulent or inappropriate means, including, without limitation, offering prizes or other inducements to members of the public, as determined by VMN in its sole discretion.
The voting process is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. Caution: Any attempt by you or any other individual to deliberately damage or tamper with the voting process, or otherwise undermine the legitimate operation of the voting is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made. Released Parties reserve the right to seek damages (including attorneys’ fees) and/or other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Who can vote?
Anyone 13 years of age or older will be able to cast their vote online throughout the Voting Period (see below). On June 5, 2019 (“Show Day”), voting will also be via Twitter.
When can I vote?
The “General Voting Period” opens at approximately 10:00 AM ET on May 7, 2019 and ends on June 4, 2019 at 11:59 PM ET.
The “Video of the Year Show Day Voting Period” opens at approximately 8:00 AM ET on June 5, 2019 and shall continue through and end at a time to be announced during the live broadcast of the Show on June 5, 2019 before the 10:00 PM ET timeframe, subject to change in VMN’s sole discretion.
Votes will not be accepted prior to or after these respective voting periods (collectively, the “Voting Period”).
How do I vote during General Voting Period?
You can vote online at www.vote.cmt.com during the General Voting Period. Once you are on the webpage, go to the category for which you would like to vote. You can click the "Vote" button next to the nominee for which you would like to vote. A prompt will appear requiring you to authenticate your vote using Captcha.
How do I vote on Show Day?
During the Video of the Year Show Day Voting Period you may vote online, as per the above, and/or via Twitter by (a) tweeting #CMTawards and #VOTE[ARTIST’S FIRST NAME] to count as one vote (the “Hashtag Vote”); or (b) follow the Hashtag Vote instructions in any call to action provided in any tweet message received from VMN; and then follow CMT’s Twitter account so you can see updates and announcements related to the VOTY winner. Voters may be subject to standard fees imposed by their internet service provider and/or mobile device provider. Votes cast outside of the respective voting window will be invalid.

The results will be revealed live during the 2019 CMT Music Awards on Wednesday June 5th on CMT (see your local listings for show dates and times).

(“CMT”), Twitter, and their respective parent, subsidiary and affiliated entities and persons, are not responsible for and shall not be liable for lost, incomplete, late, damaged, misdirected or incomplete text messages; difficulties, failures or malfunctions of phones (including wireless phones/handsets), phone lines or telephone systems or other communications malfunctions; cellular equipment towers, telephone systems or wireless services; interrupted or unavailable network, server; miscommunications, failed computer hardware or software or other technical failures; garbled, lost, misrouted or scrambled transmissions; any error, omission, interruption, defect or delay in any transmission or communication; traffic congestion or for any technical problem which may cause the voting to be disrupted or corrupted. Winners are determined by voter preference and other considerations.
Conditions for Voting:
CMT reserves the right to disqualify, block or remove any votes from any individual who votes by any electronic, mechanical or automated means, or otherwise tampers with the vote process, or for any other reason, as determined by CMT, in its sole discretion. CMT is not responsible for any damages to voter’s device that may occur from use of service. CMT reserves the right, for any reason and in its sole discretion, to modify, suspend or discontinue the voting service without prior notice. CMT reserves the right to modify the show’s contest rules, and the terms and conditions of this voting process at any time in CMT’s sole discretion.
