Q.
Are music videos
available for sale?
A.
The only way to purchase music videos is if the record label
or an independent company distributes them for home sale. Most music videos are made for promotional use only and are not
available for sale. The record labels hold all rights to the videos. Sometimes artists release video compilations. You can
find these at major record stores and large video outlets.
Q.
Where can I get info on
my favorite artist?
A.
In the
Artists area on
CMT.com,
look for our "Artist Search." The artist's page will have their bio, albums, video clips, audio clips and more. If you need
more information, try the artist's official Web site.
Q.
How can I get in touch
with my favorite artist?
A.
We don't have access to personal e-mail addresses, telephone
numbers or home addresses. The best way to contact your favorite artists is via their fan clubs or their record labels, and
some artists maintain official Web sites. For fan club information, you can try contacting their record label -- which should
be listed on their most recent album --- or contact the International Fan Club Organization (IFCO), P.O. Box 40328, Nashville,
TN 37204.
Q.
How can I find out which
country music artists will be touring near me?
A.
Click on the Tours tab at the top of any page on CMT.com.
Q.
Can I buy concert tickets
on CMT.com?
A.
Unfortunately, CMT.com does not offer its users the
ability to purchase concert tickets through the Web site. Fans should contact Ticketmaster or the venue where the concert
is being held for ticket information.
Q.
How can I meet my favorite
artists?
A.
Some artists have "meet and greets" with fans before or
after their concerts. You can contact their fan clubs to get specific information.
Q.
When will a particular
CD be released?
A.
Watch for daily updates and other country news on your favorite
artists under
"News." As
CMT.com finds out about new releases, we'll pass the information
along to you through our news page.
Q.
Why haven't certain
artists been added to your database?
A.
As we build our artist database, our first priority is to
artists who:
1. are currently signed to a major label or have an independent product on the charts;
2. are members of the Grand Ole Opry or Country Music Hall of Fame;
3. have achieved significant chart activity with Billboard, Cashbox, R&R, etc.;
4. have won awards with CMA, ACM, TNN/Country Weekly, etc., or
5. have had an impact on the history of country music.
We have many historical figures who haven't been introduced to the site, and they are our top priority.
Q.
How do artists get
their touring schedules posted on CMT.com?
A.
We receive information on artist touring schedules from
their record labels and booking agencies.
Q.
How can I book a country
music artist to play at my event?
A.
Contact the artist's booking agency directly. The Country
Music Association has artist/agency information available to its dues-paying members.
Q.
Where can I find out
about fan clubs for my favorite artist?
A.
You can try contacting the artist's record label -- which
should be listed on their most recent album -- or contact the International Fan Club Organization (IFCO), PO Box 40328, Nashville,
Tenn. 37204. Be sure to include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
Q.
What do I get from fan
clubs?
A.
Every fan club is different. Membership can include newsletters,
ticket information, a yearly gift, opportunities for meet-and-greets, fan club events during Fan Fair, among other benefits.
