The ACM/The Home Depot Humanitarian Award was created in 2002 to recognize an artist or group in the country music industry who is committed to serving others and who has a generosity of spirit and a dedication to helping build the dreams of those in need.
The brilliantly combined talents of Ronnie Dunn and Kix Brooks have solidified the duo as one of the best in country music. Their powerful performances and innovative stage shows have earned them fans for over a decade. And their generosity has become as far-reaching as their extensive annual tours. Books & Dunn have helped those displaced by Hurricane Katrina, assisted Habitat for Humanity, supported the kids of the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt and continue to be involved in several other charities.
Brooks & Dunn, the all-time ACM trophy leaders, will receive the 2007 ACM/The Home Depot Humanitarian Award during the ACM Awards Show on May 15, 2007.

Grammy award-winning artist Vince Gill is known for his generous spirit and grateful heart. Throughout his career, Gill's concerts have supported local charities, and he's lent his time and talent to causes such as homelessness, hunger, environmental protection and humane treatment of animals. His passion for golf inspired his annual pro-celebrity golf tournament, The Vinny, which raises money for the Junior Golf program.

McCoy founded and has helped raise over $3 million for the East Texas Angel Network which supports families of children living with terminal or life-threatening illnesses. But McCoy isn't content to stay in his own back yard. He's performed around the world as part of several USO tours, visiting military hospitals on bases in countries like Iraq, Kuwait, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bosnia, Oman and UAE.

Martina McBride is renowned for her unwavering commitment to human rights, and her efforts to prevent domestic violence has changed the lives of many people for the last decade. As the spokesperson for the National Network to End Domestic Violence and national spokesperson for the Tulsa Domestic Violence and Intervention Services, McBride has dedicated herself to the plight of women and children in emotional and physically abusive relationships. Her devotion to many charitable causes and her dedication to helping others has not only changed lives but given a message of hope to countless individuals.

Lonestar have earned recognition for their support and contributions to the American Red Cross. They served as spokespeople for the hurricane awareness and disaster preparedness campaigns. They are members of the first ever National Celebrity Cabinet and were ambassadors at the respite center at ground zero following the tragedy of 9/11. As fathers, the band is also committed to the efforts of St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Throughout her career, Reba McEntire has contributed her time and talent to numerous causes. Her efforts with the Texoma Medical Center have built the medical facilities and the Reba Ranch House for families of hospital patients. McEntire recorded and donated the proceeds from her single, "What If," to the Salvation Army, funded the first all-female-built house for Habitat for Humanity in Nashville, Tenn., and hosted the Ben Johnson Celebrity Charity Rodeo for the Oklahoma Children's Hospital. McEntire continues to work as national spokeswoman for First Book, an organization dedicated to providing needy children with books of their own and promoting reading interaction between adults and kids.
