This year's CMA Awards show is hosted by Johnny Cash and includes Tanya Tucker's first CMA appearance. Hee Haw co-host
and exceptional musician Roy Clark is named entertainer of the year. While the prestigious award goes to Clark, the night's
biggest winner is singer Charlie Rich. Rich's hit, "Behind Closed Doors," wins single of the year and earns song of the year
honors for writer Kenny O'Dell. The record of the same name wins album of the year. Rich is also named male vocalist for the
first time. Loretta Lynn takes home the female vocalist trophy and shares another duo of the year honor with Conway Twitty.
Danny Davis & the Nashville Brass receive their fifth CMA award, and harmonica player Charlie McCoy is named instrumentalist
of the year. One of the most recognizable voices, Patsy Cline, is inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame along with
musical icon Chet Atkins.
