21st Annual CMA Awards Summary
Hank Williams Jr. wins his first entertainer of the year award. During the show, new talents Lyle Lovett, Nancy Griffith,
K.T. Oslin and more join Williams on his song, "Young Country." The video for "My Name Is Bocephus" gives Williams his second
win of the night. Randy Travis' hit "Forever and Ever, Amen" is named single of the year and wins song of the year for writers
Paul Overstreet and Don Schlitz. His record, Always and Forever, receives album of the year. Travis also wins his first
male vocalist award, while Reba McEntire wins an unprecedented fourth consecutive female vocalist honor. Ricky Skaggs and
wife Sharon White are named duo of the year. Comedian and Grand Ole Opry star Rod Brasfield is named to the Country Music
Hall of Fame.
