Country music's first ever music video awards will be in the hands of one hot Hollywood actress as Kathy Najimy (Sister Act, Veronica's Closet, King of the Hill) takes to the stage and plays host to the CMT Flameworthy Video Music Awards, airing live Wednesday, June 12 at 9 p.m. ET on CMT. An award-winning actress of stage, screen and television, Najimy will use her remarkable talent to lead viewers through one of the most exciting nights in country music entertainment.

"Kathy is an absolute ball of fire -- an incredible natural talent with a lightening-quick sense of humor and timing in addition to her well-honed acting skills," said Kaye Zusmann, vice president, program development and production, CMT. "Kathy's love for entertaining and respect for country music make her the perfect host for the first-ever CMT Flameworthy Video Music Awards."

Najimy is known internationally for her portrayal of Sister Mary Patrick in the blockbuster hit Sister Act, which won her an American Comedy Award for funniest supporting actress. She can currently be heard as the voice of Peggy Hill on the Emmy Award winning show King of the Hill. For three seasons, Najimy starred opposite Kirstie Alley as Olive on the hit show Veronica's Closet, for which she received an American Comedy Award nomination. Other television credits include Chicago Hope, Early Edition and Ellen. In addition to Najimy's Sister Act, film credits include Hocus Pocus with Bette Midler, Hope Floats with Sandra Bullock, The Fisher King with Robin Williams, Sister Act II and The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez. Najimy recently performed on Broadway and in Los Angeles in the Vagina Monologues with Susan Sarandon, Glenn Close, Gloria Steinem, Whoopi Goldberg and Alanis Morrisette. Najimy also starred on Broadway as Mae West in the hit play Dirty Blonde. She wrote and starred in two award-winning HBO specials of The Kathy and Mo Show and sang and danced with Tim Curry in the opening number of the 1995 Academy Awards. Najimy is currently in production on the Disney feature, Soul Patrol.

Scheduled to join Najimy on CMT Flameworthy Video Music Awards are the previously announced performers Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Martina McBride, Kenny Chesney, Sara Evans and Brooks & Dunn. More celebrity appearances will be added to the show in the coming weeks.
