On an evening where country's hottest stars will turn out to celebrate their success in music videos, members of the music, Hollywood and athletic communities will be on hand to present trophies to the winners of the CMT Flameworthy Video Music Awards, which airs live on Wednesday, June 12 at 9 p.m. ET on CMT. Added to the line-up of previously announced performers are Earl Scruggs and Keith Urban, who will join Alison Krauss & Union Station in a special bluegrass segment. Other performances include Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, Toby Keith, Sara Evans and Travis Tritt. Surprise celebrity appearances are also on tap.
Hollywood celebrities are in the mix for an evening that is sure to be filled with surprises. In addition to host Kathy Najimy (Sister Act, King of the Hill), taking the stage to present will be Verne J. Troyer, also known as "Mini-Me" from the Austin Powers films, including the soon to be released, Austin Powers in Goldmember. Adding heat to the show will be television's most sought after carpenter, Ty Pennington, from the hit series Trading Spaces, as well as NFL superstar and Tennessee Titans' running back Eddie George. Though viewers can expect the unexpected during the show, scheduled to make cameo appearances via pre-taped segments are rockers Melissa Etheridge and Gene Simmons (Kiss), as well as actress Cheri Oteri (Saturday Night Live). Also scheduled to present Flameworthy awards are country stars Rascal Flatts, Trace Adkins, Chely Wright, Jamie O'Neal, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Gary Allan, Chris Cagle, Cyndi Thomson, Cledus T. Judd and Montgomery Gentry. Additional presenters will be announced soon. The Dixie Chicks will be on hand to accept the first ever Flameworthy Video Visionary Award.
The CMT Flameworthy Video Music Awards will present a special salute to bluegrass music with one of the evening's highly anticipated musical events -- back to back bluegrass performances by Alison Krauss & Union Station, Scruggs and Urban.
