Rascal Flatts, Deana Carter and Blake Shelton to Announce Final Nominees for CMT Flameworthy 2003 Video Music Awards

Three of country's hottest artists will announce the finalists for this year's coolest awards show when they host a news conference on Tuesday, March 11 for the CMT Flameworthy 2003 Video Music Awards. Lyric Street recording artists Rascal Flatts, whose latest album Melt just certified platinum, will be joined by Arista recording artist and CMA winner Deana Carter (I'm Just a Girl) and Warner Bros. recording artist Blake Shelton, whose hit "The Baby" spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. Rascal Flatts, Carter and Shelton are all first round Flameworthy nominees.

Since Flameworthy voting began on Feb. 12, more than 1.67 million votes have already been cast by fans at CMT.com to narrow the field from 10 first round nominees to five finalists in award categories. First round voting continues at CMT.com through Sunday, March 9.

Once the finalists have been announced on Tuesday, March 11, fans will again be able to vote online at CMT.com through Saturday, April 5 to determine the Flameworthy winners. The winners will be announced live at the CMT Flameworthy 2003 Video Music Awards on Monday, April 7 at 8 p.m. ET on CMT. The top five finalists for the Flameworthy video of the year will be announced at the beginning of the live awards show telecast, and fans will be able to continue voting throughout the show at CMT.com to determine the winner of this coveted award.
