Country’s New “House of Gold” Opens Doors

There were speeches, there was a ribbon cutting, but the most moving part of the grand opening celebration of the new Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum Thursday morning (May 17) was the music. Several thousand people gathered in a park across the street to witness the dedication of the $37 million facility. Speakers compared the event to a "tent revival" and described the new museum as "a true cabinet of delights," "a giant present," "a spectacular home" and "our treasure chest."
