BlackHawk Signs With Sony

Country group BlackHawk has landed a new record deal with Sony Music Nashville, a label spokesperson confirmed Tuesday (May 29). Vocalist Henry Paul and keyboardist Dave Robbins will continue without founding guitarist Van Stephenson, who died April 9 at age 47 after a long battle with skin cancer. On its former label, Arista Records, BlackHawk charted seven Top 10 country hits including "Every Once in a While" and "That’s Just About Right." No word on when BlackHawk might release a new album. 05/29/01
