Kenny Chesney Knocks Brooks & Dunn From Top of Chart

Singer's "Don't Happen Twice" Hits Billboard No. 1

This week Kenny Chesney takes over the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart as his “Don’t Happen Twice” hits No. 1. Brooks & Dunn ’s “Ain’t Nothing ’Bout You” drops from No. 1 to No. 3 on the chart, which reflects country radio play. Tim McGraw ’s “Grown Men Don’t Cry” stays at No. 2. Chesney and McGraw, recently exonerated in a Buffalo, N.Y.-area trial, begin their 2001 tour June 20 at the Journal Pavilion in Albuquerque, N.M.

Kortney Kayle’s “Unbroken by You” is the week’s Hot Shot Debut at No. 53. Also debuting on the chart are Jessica Andrews ’ “Helplessly, Hopelessly” (at No. 58), Elbert West’s “Diddley” (at No. 59) and Billy Ray Cyrus ’ “Southern Rain” (at No. 60).

Tim McGraw’s Set This Circus Down continues to head the Billboard Top Country Albums chart for the fifth straight week, with the Coyote Ugly soundtrack holding at No. 2, and Lee Ann Womack ’s I Hope You Dance continues in the No. 3 spot.
