Jackson, Rogers Nominated for Georgia Music Hall of Fame

Alan Jackson and Kenny Rogers are nominated in the performer category for the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. Jackson, a native of Newnan, Ga., will perform during the awards ceremony in Atlanta on Sept. 15. Soul legend Clarence Carter also is nominated. The winner will be inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, located in Macon. The museum honors artists who have claimed Georgia as home at some time in their lives. Members include some 20 country-related singers, instrumentalists and songwriters including Chet Atkins, Bill Anderson, Brenda Lee, Ronnie Milsap, Jerry Reed, Gram Parsons, Travis Tritt and Trisha Yearwood. 06/20/01
