George Strait will play himself in an upcoming independent film, Grand Champion. Strait sings "The Hokey Pokey" in the movie about kids who make off with a champion steer named “Hokey” before he can be shipped to a butcher, The Associated Press reports. Julia Roberts also makes a cameo appearance in the film, which stars her niece, 10-year-old Emma Roberts. Filming wrapped Saturday (June 30) in Snyder, Texas, northwest of Abilene. The movie was written and directed by Snyder native Barry Tubbs. Bruce Willis, Robert Earl Keen and Charlie Robison also appear in the movie. 07/02/01
